Guangzhou Airport and the Canton Fair
The Canton Fair (China Import and Export Fair) is held at the Pazhou Complex in Haizhu District, far south of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Airport hotels help when the flight is tight. They are a poor stand-in for a Pazhou hotel if you will be on the fair floor all day.
Airport campus during the fair
Pullman Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and Novotel Guangzhou Baiyun Airport are still the closest beds to the terminals. In fair season they have advertised a free Pazhou shuttle and a Canton Fair registration point. Ask for this year’s timetable, badge desk hours and whether the bus is only for hotel guests.
Rooms sell out early in fair weeks. Book the campus hotels first if the flight is the constraint.
Huadu hotels
Crowne Plaza Guangzhou Huadu runs a shuttle to the exhibition centre on Canton Fair exhibition days, and a separate daily airport shuttle. Those are two different buses. Pazhou is about 40 minutes by car.
Fairfield by Marriott Guangzhou Konggang is 1 km from the airport. The “five minutes from the Guangzhou International Convention & Exhibition Center” line is not Pazhou. Do not pick Fairfield because you think it is next to the fair.
When to book a city hotel instead
If you have no early flight and every appointment is at Pazhou, use the other Guangzhou hotels search and stay near the complex. These airport hotels serve CAN, not Zhujiang New Town or Pazhou.
